India’s Largest EV Charging Station in Gurgaon: Can Charge 100 cars at one Time

India’s largest electric vehicle(EV) charging station has been set up in Gurgaon on Delhi-Jaipur National Highway. This EV charging station can charge 100 electric cars at once. Of 100 points 72 points are AC slow chargers while 24 are DC fast chargers.

This electric vehicle charging station is in Sector 52, before this station India’s largest EV charging station was 16 AC and 4 DC charging ports in Mumbai.

Gurgaon EV charging station is currently open for 96 charging points. It can serve 576 Electric cars round the clock. 

1 AC charger will take up to 6 hours to fully charge an electric car, and it can charge a total of 4 electric cars in a day. According to this 72 chargers can charge 288 EVs each day. Other DC chargers can charge a single vehicle in less than 2 hours and easily 12 vehicles in a whole day. As we have 24 5KW DC chargers for 288 EVs in a day-night service.

This EV charging station, according to the business, will not only help the EV industry in the region but will also serve as a model for major EV charging stations across the country in the future. Electrify, an authorised commissioning and installation partner business of NHEV for setting up charge stations on the Jaipur–Delhi–Agra E-highway under the Ease of Doing Business pilot programme, instals and operates this charging station. Furthermore, representatives from government agencies were given a guided tour of the site during the session.  

“India is on the verge of making the investment in E-mobility charging infra setup highly competitive compared to fuel stations in terms of ease of licencing, commissioning, electrification, certification, and revenue equivalence with existing petrol pumps,” said Abhijeet Sinha, National Program Director, Ease of Doing Business programme & Project Director of NHEV in an additional charge. A charging station for electric vehicles of this scale and scope is uncommon, and it will be critical for the sector to enjoy true Ease of Doing Business in smooth ‘Certification Compliance’ and ‘Safety Standards.'”
